Nowadays, most of the people consider renting out their homes on airbnb. It is the best way to use those unused space and to earn some extra money. But before hosting yours, you need to be aware of how you should prepare your home for getting listed and make people look at yours. Some of the important things are:

  • Clean Your Home: Your home should be clean and in good order upon your guests’ arrival. In particular, the bathrooms and kitchen should be spic and span. The beds should be made up with clean sheets. Many hosts in Toronto hire airbnb maid service in Toronto to do a thorough cleaning before the arrival of guests.
  • Fix Any Hazards: There should be no obvious safety hazards like exposed wiring or a loose step. Fix anything that may cause the injury of a guest.
  • Safeguard Your Valuables: you should take specific steps to make your valuables inaccessible to guests. One option is to place all such items in a locked closet. Also, if you don’t have a locking mailbox, make arrangements to safeguard any personal mail delivered to your home while you’re renting it out.
  • Equip Your Home for Guests: Your home or apartment should be equipped to make your guests stay as easy and pleasant as possible. They should be provided with clean towels and sheets, extra blankets, an ironing board and iron, dishes, silverware, and pots and pans sufficient for the maximum number of guests you host, basic toiletries like toilet paper, paper towels, and tissues, a first-aid kit etc.

If anyone here is considering to host your vacant home, these are some of the basics you need to be careful before hosting.

Wow!

Thank you for sharing this.

Thanks for sharing this great article. We are also thinking to rent some area of the house on Airbnb but have some confusions about the equipment. The rooms that we want to use for rent have iron, small kitchen and proper furniture but our water heating system doesn't cover this area. Do you think we should also install water heating system there? Secondly, we have old slow flushing toilets there because we are not using these toilets for a long time. Do you think we should install new toilets there? What kind of latest toilets from here would you recommend?

I hope you would try to help me out in this situation.
