Have you ever wondered how to take a waste material and turn it into furniture?
We at Texas Natural Builders know of several methods of taking typical pallets and turning them into beautiful and practical furniture!!
This first workshop will be focused on the simple methods of assembling a prepared kit and as workshops progress we will build more detailed and intricate furniture out of pallet material!
We will be building an Adirondack lounge chair that can be used outdoors in a summer kitchen setting or on just a chair on your front porch!!
You will learn:
how to pick a furniture grade pallet
how to dismantle a pallet for optimum material harvest
how to prepare the materials for use (this includes using power tools such as reciprocal saw, miter circular saw, table saw, orbital sander, screw gun)
how to figure out how many pallets a furniture piece will require
how to assemble the cut pieces
how to ensure the highest personal safety when assembling the furniture
how to sand and paint/finish the pieces
how to imagine other pieces to do at home.
At the end of this workshop you will be able to repeat this piece as many times as you wish and possibly move on to creating your own designs,
AND YOU GET TO TAKE THE CHAIR YOU BUILD HOME WITH YOU!!!!
Pallet furniture make great gifts to Eco-conscience family and friends!!
Tuition for this workshop is $75 per person, this includes all materials, instruction and your finished chair.
