We will be teaching a 7 day cob cobwood workshop detailing how to build a free standing exterior shower and bath house utilizing this method of natural building.
Cordwood/Cobwood masonry's origins are unknown. There are some homes in Canada that are between 100 and 200 years old. In the United States, there's a house at the Old World Wisconsin Museum that was built in the 1884, complete with a cordwood chicken coop. There are also known examples over 100 years old in Sweden.
This cobwood structure will have a round wood with woodhenge frame, earthen floors, reciprocal roof, rocket water heater, a greywater system to use the water out in the garden directly!! It will also have rainwater catchment from its metal roof over pine poles and solar powered lighting!!
As usual theres plenty of prime camping spots and possibly a bed in a pallet house.
Hot showers and composting toilets provided as well as running water in our outdoor sinks.
Vegetarian meals provided throughout.
Tuition is $350 per person or $600 per couple, this covers food and intruction.
Children are free but a fee of $75 per child is required for meals for the 7 days and is due in full on the first day of the workshop in cash, a receipt is available if required.
