In a nutshell: cook a batch of a fantastic, freezable soup, package up six quarts, swap with friends and neighbors at a central location, party!
The Soup Swap was created by some very clever people in Seattle, and is now a national phenomenon. For specific details, follow the link above. We did one earlier this year and everyone wanted MORE!
This time, I think we'll encourage people to package their soups in zippered plastic bags. It was a real hassle finding one quart containers, they're pricing if you do find them, and bags work just as well.
Plan to bring a donation to The Greater Boston Food Bank - either canned soup or cash (which, as our savvy friend Arthur points out, goes further with GBFB's direct buying capabilities).
